Farm Bureau Federation The purpose of Farm Bureau is to make
the business of farming more profitable, and the community a better
place to live. Farm Bureau should provide an organization in which members
may secure the benefits of unified efforts in a way which could never
be accomplished through individual effort.
- American
Meat Institute is a national trade association, represents packers
and processors of 70% of the nation's beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey
products and their suppliers throughout America. Headquarters
in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and
public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research,
offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
- Animal
Industry Foundation Nonprofit education foundation established
to educate consumers about U.S. animal agriculture and its contributions
to the public's quality of life. AIF provides information on modern
animal agriculture relating to animal well-being, nutrition, food safety
and the environment, and serves as the national source for animal agriculture
education programs. AIF is committed to correcting the misinformation
directed at the public by animal activist groups.
- Bird
Shippers of America organization that represents the suppliers
of poultry, waterfowl, pigeons and other domestic birds to small flock
owners throughout the United States. Response to shipping regulations
and difficulties over the past few years.
- British
Poultry Science established in 1960, is a leading international
quarterly journal for poultry scientists and advisers to the poultry
industry throughout the world. Over 60% of the papers published originate
outside the UK. Most typically they report the results of studies with
an experimental and biological framework which either make an original
contribution to fundamental science or are of obvious application to
the industry. Subjects which are covered include: anatomy, embryology,
biochemistry, biophysics, physiology, reproduction and genetics, behavior,
microbiology, endocrinology, nutrition, environmental science, food
science, feeding stuffs and feeding, management and housing welfare,
breeding, hatching, poultry meat and egg yields and quality. Papers
that adopt a modeling approach or describe new equipment or apparatus
directly relevant to the industry are also published.
- California
Poultry Industry Federation
represents more than 97% of the state's turkey and broiler,
and chicken producers and marketers. A trade association formed in 1990,
the CPIF represents all segments of the industry including growers,
hatchers, breeders and processors. The CPIF is also the representative
for the California Squab Producers, the largest squab processing facility
in the world, and represents ducks, games birds and other meat poultry

- Chicken
Farmers of Canada Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is a national
farmer-run organization. Their main responsibility is to ensure that
2,800 farmers produce enough chicken to meet the needs of the market
place. This system is commonly known as supply management. To accomplish
this goal, farmers and processors in each province meet approximately
six times a year to determine the needs of the market with input from
other industry stakeholders, such as further processors, retailers and
the restaurant trade.

Poultry Industry (DPI) is the trade association for the broiler
chicken industry in Delaware as well as the Eastern Shore of Maryland
and Virginia.
- Egg
Clearinghouse Egg trading association. Excellent source of egg
marketing, production and egg related information.
- International
Meat and Poultry HACCP Alliance The International Meat and Poultry
HACCP Alliance was developed to provide a uniform program to assure
safer meat and poultry products. The Alliance is comprised of interested
industry associations and is affiliated with several federal agencies,
universities, and professional societies. The Alliance membership is
taking the initiative of developing and disseminating appropriate standardized
training materials for the meat and poultry industry.
- Midwest Poultry Consortium is organized to provide
leadership, support and resources
for poultry education and research
in member states.
- National
Chicken Council (NBC), based in Washington, D.C., is the national,
nonprofit trade association representing the U.S. chicken industry.
NCC is a full-service trade association that promotes and protects the
interests of the chicken industry and is the industrys voice before
Congress and federal agencies. NCC member companies include chicken
producer/processors, poultry distributors, and allied industry firms
that account for approximately 95 percent of the chickens produced in
the United States.
- National
Contract Poultry Growers Association This association intends
to support the interests and improve the viability of contract poultry
growers. This association works to improve the social and economic well-being
of contract poultry producers and their families. Rural communities
and poultry producer families will be strengthened by sustainable farming
enterprises assisted through association programs which reduce farm
costs and increase farm income.
- National
Turkey Federation is the national advocate for all segments
of the turkey industry, providing services and conducting activities
which increase demand for its members' products by protecting and enhancing
their ability to profitably provide wholesome, high-quality, nutritious
products. Is a great
source for the latest information on today's turkey industry. From recipes
and cooking tips to new product news and promotional ideas.
- Poultry
Science Association The Poultry Science Association (PSA) is
a professional organization consisting of approximately 3500 educators,
scientists, extension specialists, administrators and producers who
are committed to advancing the poultry industry.
- United
Egg Producers (UEP) is structured with membership available
to producers who are engaged as a farmer in the production of table
eggs. Membership is also available to owners of breeder flocks, hatcheries,
pullets growers, contract egg producers, and farm cooperatives that
meet the requirement of owned or leased facilities. UEP is governed
by a board of directors of egg producers and has a membership base representing
approximately 75% of all egg type chickens in the United States.
- USA
Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) is a non-profit,
industry-sponsored trade organization dedicated to increasing exports
of U.S. poultry and egg food products in all foreign markets. USAPEEC
members account for more than 90 percent of all poultry and egg exports.
Members include nearly all major U.S. poultry and egg producing and
processing companies, as well as many international trading firms. Associate
members of USAPEEC include steamship lines, cold storage facilities,
freight forwarders, port authorities and others whose businesses benefit
from thriving poultry and egg exports.

States Poultry and Egg Association The U.S. Poultry & Egg
Association, formerly Southeastern Poultry & Egg Association, is
dedicated to the growth, progress, and welfare of the poultry industry
and all of its individual and corporate interests. All segments of the
industry are represented, from producers of eggs, turkeys, and broilers
to the processors of these products and allied companies which serve
the industry.

Veterinary Poultry Association The objects
of the Association are:
1. To organize meetings for studying diseases and conditions
relating to the avian species.
2. To encourage research in this field.
3. To promote the exchange of information
and material for study between individuals and organizations interested
in the avian species.
4. To establish and maintain liaison with other bodies with
related interests.
- World's
Poultry Science Association (WPSA) was formed in 1912 and is
an international association of people concerned with poultry science
and its application in the poultry industry. Its major role is to encourage,
and help facilitate, liaison among research scientists and educators,
and between those in research and education and those working in the
many diverse sectors of the industry. There are now over 6500 members
in 55 countries, including USA, all the former Soviet states, most European
countries, Asia, Australasia, China, Japan, Israel and many countries
of Africa and South America.
